Smoking + Car Exhaust = Cadmium and Chromium Poisoning

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 27, 2008

Cadmium and Chromium are metals that do not break down and can build up over time. You and I ARE being exposed to toxic levels of CADMIUM and CHROMIUM both of which are known as “highly toxic metals”.

Where does Cadmium come from? How am I being exposed?
Cadmium can be released into the air when household or industrial waste, coal or oil are burned. Cadmium is also released from car exhaust, metal processing industries, battery and paint manufacturing, and waste hauling and disposal activities. Once cadmium is in the air, it spreads with the wind and settles onto the soil or surface water as dust.

How am I being exposed to Chromium?
Their are three main sources of chromium I’m concerned about. Automobile brake linings and catalytic converters are spewing chromium into the environment pretty much 24/7. If you live near a freeway you’re obviously being exposed to even higher levels of this noxious heavy metal. And it’s one of 69 known carcinogens released in cigarette smoke. Thus the reason cigarette smoking is being banned as a public health risk in cities through the world.

Cadmium and Chromium have an indirect role in the generation of various free radicals. Antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium are important for preventing the damage caused by reactive oxygen species.

The reason the above sentence caught my attention is it reminded me of a free radical scavenging remedy. One that contains the vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium as mentioned. It also has achieved remarkable results in preventing the damage caused by reactive oxygen species.

That remedy is called Hippophae rhamnoides aka Sea Buckthorn and Sandthorn Berry. Seabuckthorn significantly inhibited chromium-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and maintained the cell size identical to that of control cells.

So where can you get Hippophae rhamnoides in a dose strong enough to get the benefits attained in research studies. Simple there are 12.5 grams of Hippophae rhamnoides in every ounce of a great tasting juice called ALPINEV (click to order). Taking 3-4 ounces of this great tasting beverage every night before you go to sleep .This will assist your bodies repair, restore, reinvigorate efforts that occur while we are sleeping.

Hippophae Rhamnoides: 12.5 grams/ounce ALPINEV

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 16, 2008

The superfruit industry has come a long way. I’d been researching the
reported benefits of Sea Buckthorn (H. rhamnoides) for about 2 years
when I started to look for a supplier who could it to me in gram
strength. That’s the amount you need to take to get the anti-inflammatory, free radical scavenging, DNA protective effects.

I had reviewed the hundreds of current research studies and found that
they were using grams of Sea Buckthorn to attain the remarkable results
they reported. That’s when the folks at AlpineV found me. To my
surprise they had put 25 grams of Sandthorn berry (aka Sea Buckthorn)
in every two ounces of a great tasting juice.

So yes - if you want to have a chance at reproducing the benefits of
Sea Buckthorn AlpineV provides the best means of doing it. Taking 500mg oil
capsules just won’t get the trick done, you’d have to take far to many
of them to get to a therapeutic dose and the cost would be prohibitive.

See what you think? You owe it to yourself and your family to take the 60 Days
to Victory Health Challenge
. Drink 3 ounces of AlpineV a day for 60
Days and see and feel the differences for yourselves. Besides, it’s

Hippophae Rhamnoides protects against Mitochondrial and Genomic DNA Damage

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 14, 2008

Hippophae rhamnoides or seabuckthorn (aka sandthorn berry) is used extensively in Indian and Tibetan traditional medicine for the treatment of circulatory disorders, ischemic heart disease, hepatic (liver) injury, and neoplasia.” A 2006 study showed that H. rhamnoides reduced the amount of damage detected in both nuclear DNA and in mitochondrial DNA.

The study further evaluated the antioxidant properties and the free-radical scavenging activities. It was noted that H. rhamnoides “scavenged radiation-induced hydroxyl radicals, chemically-generated superoxide anions, stabilized DPPH radicals, and reduced Fe(3+) to Fe(2+).”

“The results of the study indicate that…H. rhamnoides protects mitochondrial and genomic DNA from radiation-induced damage.” The polyphenols/flavonoids present in H. rhamnoides appear to be responsible for the free radical scavenging and the DNA protection it affords.

The best way to get the benefits of Hippophae rhamnoides is from the new superfruit drink called AlpineV. It contains 25 grams of H. rhamnoides in every two ounces of this marvelous tasting nutritional juice.

Considering that each time a cell divides it must reproduce not only its genomic DNA, contained in the nucleus of the cell, it also duplicates the mitochondria (cellular batteries) and its specific DNA too. This passes on the proper instruction for the cell to continue to function as a liver cell or a heart cell and it also provides the energy for that cell to be able to perform its tasks.

We are being exposed to an amazing assortment of mental, emotional, physical and worst of all environmental (chemical) stressors that are causing massive numbers of errors and mutations when your cells are duplicating. This alters their function and causes them to act improperly. This is easily seen by the increase in autoimmune disease, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, autism and a multitude of other illness and ailments that are far to common.

AlpineV with its 12.5 grams of H. rhamnoides per ounce provides an ideal means of counteracting the disastrous health challenges we face by protecting both the genomic DNA and the mitochondrial DNA and thus maintaining the integrity of our health at the cellular level. The only level that really counts.

One of the best parts about AlpineV is that it comes with a 100% 60 day money back guarantee. If you want to protect your body from the ravages of disease and old age at the cellular level I urge you to consider taking Hippophae rhamnoides by drinking AlpineV.

Monosodium glutamate (MSG): A Dastardly Villain

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 14, 2008

Consider it’s suspect safety profile, one has to wonder why the FDA has not outlawed and baned the dietary use of monosodium glutamate (MSG) from the food chain.

It is common knowledge that MSG is a causative agent in the development of chronic inflammation which is linked to large percentage of disease states, including all of the autoimmune diseases.

MSG induces central obesity and type 2 diabetes both rampant and growing throughout the United States. It’s startling to realize that long term use of MSG is certain to result in a number of dangerous liver diseases.

Now you wouldn’t think that eating something with ‘natural flavoring’ in it would be detrimental to your health. That because you might not know that the government allowed the people who make MSG to call it many other things. One of which is the same natural flavoring.

Why you have to be made aware of the dangers of MSG and are not protected for it are beyond my understanding.

The good news is there’s a simple way to counteract MSG’s inflammatory traits so we can enjoy

You can take an antidote and neutralize the inflammatory effects of MSG before they get a chance to burn up too many cells in your body. One such antidote is Hippophae Rhamnoides aka Sea Buckthorn or Sandthorn which you’ll find in a product called AlpineV. Another is Lyceum Barberum aka Goji Berry which is present in the product called GoChi.

How to get rid of Infection and it’s associated aches and pains!

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 14, 2008

When you have an infection you have a large free-radical (oxidant) burden due to a systemic deficiency of the tripeptide GLUTATHIONE, the bodies primary antioxidant. Supplementation with Hippophae rhamnoides, which is found in gram strength in AlpineV consistently increases glutathione levels in patients with infections, even advanced HIV-infections.

H. rhamnoides has several other remarkable health benefits including the ability to signficantly decrease serum lipid peroxide levels interleukin (IL)-2 levels while increasing natural killer (NK) activity which make it an obvious choice in overcoming infection induced dis-ease.

Another great reason to benefit from the incredibly effective anti-oxidant capabilities of H. rhamnoides found in AlpineV is that oxidative stress contributes to muscular fatigue. This means that things that cause production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in skeletal muscle, like a yeast-fungal infection and heavy metal toxicity result in muscle fatigue. H. rhamnoides increases intracellular glutathione reducing muscular fatigue, as it enhances athletic performance.

ACTION STEP: Enchance your antioxidant defenses - get yourself some H. Rhamnoides now in the form of the great tasting superfruit AlpineV, and start taking it right now!

Improving Glutathione Levels with AlpineV

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 14, 2008

Nearly every inflammatory disease is associated with an tremendous over production of free-radicals aka oxidants. Glutathione is our frontline defense against the build-up of free-radical oxidants throughout the body.

If you have belly fat, you have inflammation in your body. If you have Candida, Fibromyaglia, Chronic Fatigue, Diabetes, Lupus etc. you have inflammation in your body. If your Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acid ratio is over 4:1; which is true for at least 80% of the US population you also have inflammation. Each of these increases the demand for glutathione and requires supplementation.

The best, and most natural way to increase glutathione levels is by using the remarkable anti-oxidant properties of Hippophae Rhamnoides, which is found in gram strength in a new superfruit drink called AlpineV.

Using this nutritional approach can help maintain optimal levels of the all important glutahtione and at the same time counteract the negative effects of oxidative stress all over the body.

Recipe for Health: Help your body Heal an Injury

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 14, 2008

ASK DR. TED

“I have a rib that has been injured, not cracked or broken.

What can I do that would be really good to help heal this injury?”

Here’s a thought on how you could heal your ‘injury’ faster. Current research studies show that Sea Buckthorn has proven to be very effective in wound healing.

So its pretty easy to extrapolate that it could also be helpful in healing an injury that’s more likely to be a sprain / strain than a fracture. An injury such as YOURS, especially when you considered it’s amazing anti-inflammatory properties and it’s ability to increase Glutathione levels.

Recipe for Health: Get yourself some AlpineV. This nutritious, great tasting juice contains 25 grams of Hippophae Rhamnoides in every 2 ounces.

Wishing you Wellness - Dr. Edwards: The Allergy Expert

P.S. If you wanted to really accelerate the healing process you might consider getting a Photomedicine Blue Therapeutic Light too. You would apply the Seabuckthorn Seed Oil to the injured area and than shine the Therapeutic Light on it for at least five minutes.

What does this do? It activates the cell to raise the number of
mitochondria in each cell which results in more ATP being produced
right away. The light will also facilitate faster transport of the
vital nutrients in the Seabuckthorn Seed Oil to move through the cell
membranes directly into your cells - the only place they’re really
useful, don’t you think?

Problem: Reactive Oxygen Species, Mitochondrial Stress! Solution: SeaBuckthorn

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 14, 2008

Healthy tissues produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) via the mitochondria. These ROS, whether produced outside or inside your body pose a constant threat to your
cells as they produce severe damage to your cell membranes and alter
cell membrane proteins by mutating your DNA, proteins and lipids.

To counteract this I highly recommend that you maintain a constant supply
of Seabuckthorn in the form of AlpineV, which contains 25 grams of Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn).

Why? because Sea Buckthorn significantly inhibits reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation (Mol Cell Biochem. 2005 Oct;278(1-2):101-9.)

The importance of oxidative (ROS) damage to the creation of many diseases as
well as to the many degenerative processes of aging has become increasingly apparent over the past few years. ROS generation often exceeds the cell’s antioxidant capacity resulting in a condition termed oxidative stress.

Restricting methionine and increasing L-glutamate decreases mitochondrial oxidative stress. This is exactly what current research says Sea Buckthorn does and why you shouldn’t leave this site with getting this true anti-aging product right now.

While other anti-oxidants help control oxidative stress in cells, they do nothing to stem the rate of aging. Methionine restriction increases maximum longevity by decreasing the sensitivity of proteins to oxidative damage thus lowering the rate of ROS generation in the mitochondria. A lower rate of mitochondrial ROS generation extends the life span by governing the rate of oxidative attack and accumulation of mutations in mitochondrial DNA. Decreasing protein intake is beneficial to this process while restricting lipid intake is not.

IMPORTANT: Sea Buckthorn (H. rhamnoides) protects mitochondrial and genomic DNA from damage. The polyphenols/flavonoids present in the berries might be responsible for the free radical scavenging and DNA protection afforded by Sea Buckthorn (Environ Mol Mutagen. 2006 Dec;47(9):647-56.)

Methionine alters lipid metabolism which adversely affects the membranes of every cell in our body. Dietary methionine increases circulating homocysteine levels which are strongly associated with heart disease. Diets high in lysine and methionine (casein) cause a marked increases in LDL (lousy) cholesterol.

What are the primary sources of methionine in foods?

  • Casein 25.9 (dairy)
  • Rice 21.3
  • Potato 16.2
  • Soybean 10.9

To counteract the negative impact of eating these methionine enriched foods we need to use isoflavones, like those prevalent in the Sea Buckthorn found in AlpineV. These isoflavones lowers plasma cholesterol and homocysteine levels changing plasma profile from atherogenic to cardioprotective.

Hippophae rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Heals Skin Wounds

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on April 4, 2008

Hippophae rhamnoides aka Sea Buckthorn (SBT) or Sandthorn berry, the primary ingredient in AlpineV, possesses potent antioxidant properties as evidenced by significant increase in reduced glutathione (55.0%), vitamin C (70.0%) and catalase (20.0%) activities in wound granulation tissue.

Using SBT also resulted in significant decrease in lipid peroxide levels (39.0%). The results suggest that the sea buckthorn promotes wound healing activity.

Sea Buckthorn’s remarkable stimulating effect on the healing process is explained by its rich content of vitamins (A, C, E etc.) and micro elements (sulfur, selenium, zinc, copper etc.). Sea Buckthorn significantly increases the amount of reduced glutathione, vitamin C, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase activities delivered directly into the cells. An added benefit is that Sea Buckthorn actually reduces toxic lipid peroxide levels. Plain and simple, SeaBuckthorn promotes wound healing.

One of the best and easiest ways to take Sea Buckthorn is by drinking AlpineV which contains 25 grams of this remarkable superfruit in every two ounces. AlpineV comes with a 100% money back guarantee so I suggest you use it for 60 days and see for yourself what kind of a difference it can make.
